Delicious berries and beautiful flowers!

Also known as the Saskatoon, Western Serviceberry has been a tasty food source for as long as humans have been around. This is a shrub that has white flowers in the spring which attract many different pollinators, and sweet blueberry-like berries that develop in the summer. If you wait too long to gather the berries, you may need to fight the birds for them!

Western Serviceberry is quite drought-tolerant, and is an excellent choice for hot parking lot strips and south sides of buildings.
