A great spreading groundcover!
This clover is one of the best lawn replacements out there! It does not get too high, and tends to sprawl along the ground. It is an excellent nectar source for pollinators in the summer, and can be used instead of non-native European clovers. It is also a host plant for the Western cloudywing butterfly. Springbank Clover is entirely edible by humans – along with the flowers and foliage, the roots have been widely eaten by native people for thousands of years.
